A re-elected Napthine Coalition Government will invest $130,000 for maintenance works at Park Ridge Primary School, State Member for Scoresby and Liberal Candidate for Rowville, Kim Wells announced today.
“The Napthine Coalition Government is building better schools for all Victorian students and I am delighted to announce $130,000 in funding will enhance facilities at Park Ridge Primary School if the Victorian Coalition Government is re-elected,” Mr Wells said.
“The money will go towards upgrading school buildings which have been identified as requiring general maintenance works to support the learning and teaching for the more than 590 students at Park Ridge Primary.
Mr Wells said the Napthine Government has a strong commitment to investing in schools in Rowville and giving local students the facilities they deserve.
“Recently I announced a re-elected Victorian Coalition Government will commit $5 million to rebuild Scoresby Secondary College and $8 million to upgrade Rowville Secondary College,” Mr Wells said.
“The Victorian Coalition Government is delivering a $1.1 billion investment in school infrastructure, including 24 new schools across the State, and upgrades to hundreds of existing schools, including Park Ridge Primary School.”
Mr Wells said Coalition Government have stepped in after 11 years of Labor neglect and have taken action to fix Labor’s $420 million school maintenance backlog.
“While Labor cut maintenance funding by 20 per cent, we have increased maintenance funding by 40 per cent, to tackle Labor’s underinvestment in school facilities.
“This commitment and our current investments, including upgrades at Park Ridge Primary School, will ensure students and families in Rowville will have access to the very best facilities and learning spaces available.”
