The Napthine Government welcomes the appointment of David Bruce and Greg Leach to Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) Deputy Chief Officer roles.
Mr Bruce has worked for MFB for 30 years, most recently in executive roles across various Assistance Chief Fire Officer positions. He also played a key role in MFB’s successful transition to the $109 million Victorian Emergency Management Training Centre in Craigieburn, which was recently opened by the Napthine Government.
Mr Leach was formally a Regional Manager with Ambulance Victoria. During this time, Mr Leach was responsible for the ambulance response to the Black Saturday bushfires, and most recently the health response to the Hazelwood mine fire. He has experience working across multiple emergency management agencies over the past 25 years.
These appointments highlight Victoria’s significant progress in emergency management reforms, and promotes the mobility and transferable skills across the sector, at the highest level.
On behalf of the Coalition Government I congratulate Mr Bruce and Mr Leach on their appointments and look forward to working positively with them.
We greatly value the work of our emergency services personnel who continue to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, great commitment and a remarkable dedication to the exercise of their responsibilities.
